Linda Gleason died Saturday, July 31, 2021, finally succumbing to her valiant, 7 year fight with cancer. She died peacefully in her sleep in her son's home while under hospice care.
She leaves her son, Christian Zrilanka and his wife Carla; one grandson, Joshua Mitchell Zrilanka; one sister, Virginia Jones and her husband Randolph; and several cousins.
Born in Salisbury, Maryland, Linda was a veteran of the United States Navy where she served honorably at Glynco Naval Airstation as an Air Traffic Controlman. Upon completion of her service, she moved to North Carolina to be close to her family.
As a resident of Greensboro for over 40 years and devoted to her family, Linda was known for her warm-
hearted sense of humor, her compassionate empathy and service to others. These traits served her well as she found her passion in making her living in retail clothing sales. Linda also rescued several dogs from the Greensboro Animal Shelter.
Linda spent her free time reading, working on puzzle books, spending time with family, going on cruises, and volunteering through her church affiliations. Her church of 30 years was First Baptist Church in Greensboro, and she also was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church for 10 years.
Arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation and Funeral Service of Greensboro.
