Billy McKinnon, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 29, 2021 where the angels surrounded him and escorted him to his heavenly home. Billy was born on June 25, 1955 to the late Bishop D.D. McKinnon and Mary E. McKinnon in Roberson County, North Carolina. Billy was educated in the Greensboro City Schools. He worked many years for the Greensboro Coliseum and the Greensboro Recycling Plant up until his health declined. He confessed Christ as his savior at an early age and he always commented that “the Lord will have the last word”. He enjoyed watching Judge television shows and sports especially the Carolina Panthers and the Carolina Tarheels. He also enjoyed drinking sugar water and spending time with friends and family. Billy also had a sense of humor and loved to make people laugh and smile. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Lola McKinnon as well as both of his parents, Bishop D.D. and Mary E. McKinnon and all of his brothers, Rudolph McKinnon, Dan McKinnon, and Joel McKinnon. He leaves to cherish his only sister, Pearl Bolton (James) of Greensboro, NC and his nieces Sherline McLean (Demetrius) and Sabrina Hamm (Clinton) and a host of other relatives and friends.
