Sarah Lucilles (Wales) Farrell

Sarah “Lucille” Wales Farrell passed away on 09/02/2017 at Guilford Health Care Center at the age of 89 years. Formally of Pleasant Grove, Al., she moved in 2008 to the home of her Son Donald Lee Collins and wife, Carolyn Woodside Collins in Summerfield, NC.

She was born to parents James B. Wales and Annie Argo Wales on 03/11/1928.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Edward Ward of Pleasant Grove, AL and Frank Farrell of Pleasant Grove, AL. Also, preceding her in death was Mother, Annie L. Argo, Father James B. Wales, Stepmother, Ruby V. Wales, and Brother, Douglas Wales.

 Surviving to mourn her loss are Son, Donald L. Collins and wife Carolyn of Summerfield,NC, Step-son Frank Farrell, Jr and wife Shirley of Tyler, AL. Grandchildren: Thomas Lee Collins of Houston, TX, Christie C. Martin and husband Matthew Martin of Shelby, NC.., Natalie M. Cain and Husband, Jeff of Coleridge, NC and Olivia M. Rippin and Husband, Greg of Maplewood, NJ. Great Grands include, Stella Kaylyn Martin, Jasmine Lucille Martin, Paison R. Cain, Fallon Raye Cain and Ada Isabell Rippin.

She is also survived by her Sisters Louise Coale of Nacogdoches, TX., Lavera Collins of Shalimar, FL., Annie Belle Isaac and Husband Morris of Pleasant Grove, AL, Darlene Thompson and Husband Richard of Arab, AL., Brothers Robert “Paddlefoot” Wales of Hueytown, AL. and Dewey Wales, and wife Kathy of Sevierville, TN.

Lucille was a unique lady. She loved her grandchildren and was always eager to hear the latest news of their active lives. She was a caregiver, and devoted countless hours to caring for her ailing husbands Ed and Frank. She was also a caregiver to her Aunt Maybelle and husband.

She loved to travel and traveled extensively across the United States, Mexico and in later years to China and the Philippines.

Over the past few years her health has declined rapidly. She was in the caring hands of Guilford Health Care Center who provided the intensive care she required. The family is forever grateful.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove, AL, where a tentative service of remembrance is planned on the 30th of September 2017. Further details to come.
