Mr. Samuel "Big Dawg Sam" Benjamin Stratton, 43, of High Point, North Carolina, left for his heavenly home on June 6th, 2018, following a hard-fought battle with renal cell carcinoma. Sam was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He lived passionately, laughing and smiling often while enjoying making others do the same. His love for his wife, his children, his family, and his fur babies was evident as they brought great joy to him. He was a "true outdoorsman"; hunting, fishing, and loving every day.
Born April 12th, 1975, he is survived by his parents Gene and Joyce Stratton of Trinity. Sam is also survived by his beloved wife, Tammy Louise Thompson Stratton; his daughter, Stacie Stanley and husband Curtis of Silver Valley; his son, Joshua Cobb of Archdale; his fur babies, Sugar and Ginger; his granddaughters, Zoey Stanley and DeAnna Cobb; his grandson, Dylan Bare; his sister Karen Stratton Key and husband Johnny of Thomasville; his sister Rita Stratton Williams and husband Phil of Trinity; his sister Samantha Stratton Miller and husband Jamie of Trinity; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends.
Michael Hoschouer and Brandon Teal, Sam's “brothers from another mother”, will give Sam his last ride to a Celebration of Life service at Crossover Community Church in High Point. The service will begin at 11am on Saturday the 16th and the family will receive guests afterwards in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family to assist with expenses
