High Point- Minnie Frances Riddick Nash, 90, of High Point died Wednesday, April 4. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Nash, and a son, Fred Nash. She is survived by son, David Nash, daughters, Miriam Collins (Andy), Carolyn Nash, and Kay Rogus (Mark), and “the girls” Charlotte, Natalie and Emma Rogus.
Min was born on January 31, 1928 in Gurley, Alabama, to Mary Foster Riddick and Benjamin Franklin Riddick. She attended Elon College in North Carolina. After raising five children, she worked at Archdale Mfg. Co. in High Point until her retirement. She had also been a substitute teacher for the High Point City School system.
She loved to garden and carved out quite a lovely flower and vegetable garden from the woods and kudzu around her condominium. She enjoyed baking and her neighbors looked forward to their gifts of homemade treats every holiday season. An excellent seamstress, she sewed clothes for herself, her daughters and granddaughters, including three wedding dresses and three christening gowns. Min was an avid college basketball fan and enjoyed watching her favorite ACC teams play during the winter months. Always up for adventures, she went zip-lining with her family at age 83!
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 21 at 11:00am at the chapel of First United Methodist Church, 512 N Main Street, High Point, NC 27260.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to her childhood church, Cameron UMC, 171 Cameron Church Road, Gurley, AL 35748.
