Margaret Anne (Bagby Fetzer) Pipes

Greensboro NC: Margaret A. Pipes passed away peacefully on January 8, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends. Margaret was born in Shelby, NC on November 27, 1939 to Frankie Bagby Fetzer, who died while giving birth. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Tom and Ella Fetzer, of Shelby, NC. She is survived by her husband Richard of Greensboro, NC.

She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She began her career at Handi-Clean Products where she retired from in 1990. She loved her church family with a passion and taught children's Sunday school for over forty years. Margaret was an avid cross stitcher and gardener.  She found joy in spending time with the ones she loved and helping others.

She is also survived by four brothers: Charles and Ellen Fetzer of Oriental, NC, Tom Fetzer Junior of Jamestown, NC,  Dan and Kathy Fetzer of Greensboro, NC,  and Tim and Donna Fetzer of Smith Mountain Lake, VA. She is survived by 3 children: son William and wife Debbie Pipes of Port Orange, FL, daughter Elizabeth and husband Chip Zirpolo of Greensboro, NC, and daughter Cathy and husband Kurt Steckman of McDonough, GA. Grandchildren include:  granddaughter Melissa and husband Pat Lehman of Greensboro, NC, granddaughter Amber Leviner of Browns Summit, NC, grandson Cody Pipes of Port Orange, FL, granddaughter Darbi Steckman, and grandson Connor Steckman, both of McDonough, GA. Great-grandchildren include Owen and Emery Lehman of Greensboro, NC. Her three step-grandchildren are Christopher and Ashleigh, Anthony, and Danielle Zirpolo. Her four step-great-grandchildren are  Bentley, Acelynn, Cooper, and Cason Zirpolo. Margaret is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday January 13, 2018 at Good Shepherd Church 4453 Sumner Church Rd. Greensboro, NC 27406 with Pastor Billy Young Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time also at the church. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel of Greensboro. In lieu of of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Greensboro 2500 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405.
