Judith Marie (Jordan) Gray

October 19, 1935 ~ April 28, 2018 (age 82)

Judith Marie (Jordan) Gray, 82, of Clermont, Florida (by way of Madison, Wisconsin) passed away in Greensboro, North Carolina on April 28, 2018 with her daughter Melanie and son Stephen by her side. Judie was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Eva (Poelma) Jordan, her loving husband William Tyler Gray, Jr., her beloved daughter Stacey "The Queen" Gray and brother James (Sheila) Jordan. She is survived by her brother John (Judith) Jordan, her sister-in-law Mary Ellen Ramstack and her loving children William Tyler (Maggie) Gray III, Melanie (Steve) Knier, Seneca (Wendy) Gray, and Stephen (Deborah) Gray, and her grandchildren whom she loved and adored: Andrea Gray, Tyler (Darleen) Gray, William (Melissa) Knier, Madeline Knier, Alexander, Isabella and Austin Gray, and many nieces and nephews.

Judie grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was a proud graduate of Michigan State University, a member of Chi Omega, and worked for many years in retail management and merchandising. She was an avid reader of novels, newspapers and magazines and kept well informed of world events. She was a sharp card player and took pleasure in movies, games and brainteasers—Jeopardy! was a nightly pastime. She was a lifelong golfer and was involved in many leagues over the years. Judie was a longtime volunteer in many activities and often spoke of her activism during the Civil Rights Movement. Even when she was a very busy mother to five young children, she continued to challenge herself intellectually by enrolling in continuing education courses when she could. Judie took delight in her many supportive and fun friends, especially those at Kings Ridge, and she dearly loved her family as the proud matriarch. She will be greatly missed, but always cherished and remembered.

There will be a memorial Mass at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 720 12th Street, Clermont, FL on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11am. Judie’s cremains will be laid to rest at a later date in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Milwaukee.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to The Mike Conley Hospice House, a residence of Cornerstone Hospice, in Clermont, Florida.  http://web.cshospice.org/foundation/giving/  or call 888-728-6234.
