Henrietta Dorothy (Coleman) BeaverJune 20, 1925 ~ September 23, 2017 (age 92)
Our hearts are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved cousin, Spiritual Sister, and dear friend, Henrietta Dorothy Coleman Beaver. She was born on June 20, 1925 in Danville, VA, the only child of the late Willie B. and Izetta L:illian Coleman Edmunds. She was the stepdaughter of Mr. Archie Edmunds.
A widow, Sis. Beaver was also preceded in death by her first husband, Mr. Harvey Douglas Taylor of Halifax, VA. She later married, Mr. Reginald Beaver in Washington, DC, who died in 1986.
Sister Beaver was a high school graduate and a talented seamstress. She was an alumni of The Martha May Washington School of Design where she perfected her skills and used those skills in the finest dress shops in Washington, DC. where she lived after a brief stay in NYC. She was very proud of her job as a Money Examiner for the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing from which she retired in 1986 wen she returned to Halifax to be near her parents.
A devout Jehovah’s Witness, Henrietta symbolized her dedication by water baptism on October 11, 1986 in Crownsville, MD. Upon her return to VA, she became an enthusiastic and beloved member of the Halifax Congregation until moving to Greensboro, NC in 2005. There she was warmly welcomed into the Mercury Drive (West Friendly) Congregation. She lived up to her dedication faithfully, sharing in the Field Ministry and attending Meetings at the Kingdom Hall up to a month before her passing. Even when her health confined her to her residence at Carolina Estates at times, she could be heard in the dining room vigorously sharing her faith in Jehovah’s promises and her favorite scripture: Rev. 21: 3-4.
While it would be impossible to name the vast number of remaining family members and truly dear friends who have helped and comforted Henrietta for the past couple of years, we sincerely hope you know how wonderfully you have affected her life.
Henrietta also leaves to cherish her precious memory other favorite Cousins, including: Lois Hope & Family, especially Dgtrs.
