Patricia Ann King, 55, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem, North Carolina.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and much loved Niece and friend, she will be greatly missed. Patricia was born on December 25, 1961 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late John C. Robinson and Lucy Lee (Young) Robinson. She spent her younger years in Georgia and California before marrying Melvin B. Wharton and moving to Greensboro, NC.
Patricia dedicated her life to being a pillar for her children and those close to her. She was a very caring person, who most often, put others before herself. She was full of expression and had a vibrant personality. To really know her, you would have to get to understand her. She was feisty, spicy, and full of life, that she shared with anyone she came in contact with. Her favorite things to do were spending time with family and friends, watching movies, dancing, and shopping for furniture and shoes. Her loving and lasting light will live on forever through those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, John C. Robinson, and her mother, Lucy Lee (Young) Robinson, whom she loved and adored. Patricia is survived by her ex-husband, James King of Charlotte, NC; three devoted sons Melvin Bernard Wharton Jr. of Louisville, KY, Gavin Lee Wharton, and Marcus Anthony King of Greensboro, NC; A granddaughter, Kyaesia L. Monroe; Two loving sisters, Shirley Shakespeare and Theresa Huff Robinson both of Columbus, GA. Two caring brothers, John C Robinson Jr. (Daffney) of Jacksonville FL, and Larry James Robinson (Sherricka) of Columbus, GA; and a host of very special Aunts (Doris, Mary, and Bernice) and also devoted Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, God children, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday June 24, 2017 at Triad Cremation Society & Chapel 2110 Veasley Street Greensboro NC 27407. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time, with burial following at Proximity Cemetery.
