Greensboro- Keith Foster Mitchell passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the age of 64. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greensboro with the Reverend Bill Davis officiating. Family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00pm.
He was born in Guilford County to Boyd W. and Betty Burgess Mitchell and is preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Karen Leigh Mitchell Laughter. Keith is survived by his father (and wife, Becky) of Archdale; brother, B.W. “Mitch” Mitchell (and wife, Kathy Jo) of Greensboro; sister, Chryl Ann Mitchell Twilley (and husband, Mike) of Lexington; and two special nephews, Todd Twilley of Breckenridge, CO and Clayton Mitchell of Monroe, NC.
He worked at Cone Mills White Oak Plant for over twenty years and was considered a master carpenter. He also spent many years in the glass installation industry. He was a proud member of the American Legion Cone Post 386 and a life member of National Rifle Association. Keith will long be remembered for his famous benefit “stews” to help other friends in need and his never-ending repertoire of jokes. Keith leaves behind a host of wonderful friends whom he considered family.
