Jay Colia ThomasDecember 12, 1952 ~ April 14, 2017 (age 64)
Jay Colia Thomas was one of fifteen children born to the late Ruth Agers Evans and the late Johnnie Evans. A devoted and loving woman to her children, grandchildren, family and friends, she was an anchor in time of trouble and when able always the first to step up to the plate.
She was born December 12, 1952 in Guilford County, NC. She transitioned from this earthly life on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Beacon Place Hospice Care Center, Greensboro NC. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jay attended James B Dudley in 1968 and later graduated from James Madison High School in 2005 proving that you never give up on your hopes and dreams.
She worked at Goodwill Industries for many years until her heath declined.
Jay joins her mother, Ruth Agers Foust; her father, Johnnie Evans and five brothers, Joseph Hosley, Alford Noble, Bruce Evans, Eddie Foust and Oscar Foust in heaven.
As she walks alongside the angels, she leaves to hold her loving and fond memories of her two daughters, Michelle Haywood (Calvin) and Angel Thomas (Terrence) of Greensboro, NC; three granddaughters, Simone Evans, Genesis Taylor (Tahlik) and Sierra Haywood of Greensboro, NC; two soon to be great grandchildren; nine siblings, Annette Holsey of Greensboro NC, Jackie Holsey of New York, Jimmy Holsey of New York, Judy Holsey of Spencer NC, Bernard Evans (Robin) of Greensboro NC, Jeffrey Evans (Velma) of Greensboro NC, Eric Foust of Florida, Vernon Foust of Greensboro NC and Walter Foust of Greensboro NC; a special niece Doreen Dawkins (Marvin) of Greensboro NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be Saturday, April 22, 2017, 1 pm, at Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.
