Allen Ray Moore, 69, of Greensboro, NC passed away on June 17, 2017. He was born in Guilford County to John Moore and Opal Hutchins Moore.
Allen proudly served in the US Marines. He was a radio operator and achieved the rank of Corporal. Allen served in Vietnam and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, and Rifle Marksmanship Badge.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carolyn Faye George Moore; sister-in-law, Janet Lynn George Jordan; nieces, Lisa Jordan Moore and Laura Leigh Jordan; great niece, Ryland Moore; brother-in-law, Michael George; mother-in-law, Virginia George; special brother-in-law, Phillip Maulden (Linda); brother, Harvey Gray Moore; niece, Debra Alexander (Dana); great nephew, Dustin Alexander; brother-in-law, Sam Riddle; nephew, Stanley Riddle; great niece, Lindsay Riddle and her mother, Ann Riddle; and other close friends and relatives.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Betty Riddle; and sister-in-law, Stella Moore.
Allen was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Among his many attributes, he was a generous and kind person and never met a stranger, and was an antique dealer for many years. He had a deep love for animals, nature, and was a wood carver (loved to carve canes and walking sticks- which he would donate to people in need).
Allen believed in God and was of the Christian faith.
Burial will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
